What to check first

Know the details before they matter

A few minutes reviewing drivers, deductibles and coverage choices can help you avoid surprises later.

01 · CHECK THE DRIVERS

Keep drivers up to date.

Tell your insurer about household and regular vehicle operators as required by your policy.

02 · COMPARE THE DETAILS

Look past the monthly payment.

Compare liability limits, deductibles, optional coverage and exclusions—not just premiums.

03 · UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION

Moved or changed cars?

Update your address, vehicle garaging location, vehicle information and usage when they change.

How Hoppy can help

New car, new address or new driver? We can help you look at what changes and what doesn’t.

Straight answers

Questions we hear often

Does my auto policy automatically cover a rental car?

Not always. Coverage depends on your policy, the rental arrangement, vehicle use and available coverages. Check before you rent.

What happens to my auto insurance when I move?

Tell your insurer your updated residential and vehicle garaging addresses. Pricing, eligibility or coverage requirements may change.

Do I need comprehensive and collision?

They are generally optional unless required by a lender or lease. Whether they make sense depends on the vehicle, its value and your budget.

Will a lower deductible always be better?

A lower deductible may reduce what you pay for certain covered claims, but can increase premium. Compare both costs.
